Winnipeg Lactation Consultant & Postpartum Doula
Never Forget How Wildly Capable You Are
Take a big ol’ breath – Postpartum just got a whole lot simpler.
As a new parent, it can feel like there’s no end to the overwhelm.
You’re navigating feeding your baby, and all of the challenges and learning that comes with it. Scheduling appointments, feeding yourself, trying to keep the floor clean and the laundry pile under control, all while your coffee gets cold (again). As a new parent, this season might feel like a constant struggle to “get it all right.” But here’s a little secret: you don’t have to be perfect at this.
You just need the right support—and a bit of breathing room.

From Midwife to Mom: I know both sides of Postpartum (and the Snacks That’ll Keep You Sane).
I thought I had postpartum all figured out—until I was the one stuck in the 3 a.m. feeding/pumping/burping zone. I was a newcomer to Winnipeg, Manitoba, and hadn’t a clue where to turn!
With almost a decade as a midwife, I’d learnt it all… or so I thought. Then my daughter arrived, and we went through every possible challenge. From tongue ties to allergies to low supply to colic, and so many rounds of breastfeeding and pumping that I might’ve invented a new sport.
Here’s what I learned (besides that my caffeine tolerance is heroic): you don’t need to have it all figured out, and you definitely don’t need to do it alone. I know the isolation, the frustration, and the urge to scream when you’re not being heard (spoiler: I’ll do the shouting for you if you need it).
So, I’m here to help you skip the stress and get straight to the part where you feel supported and understood. My network of perinatal pros—from therapists to physios to chiropractors—has your back too, no extra hoops needed. Whether you need tips, tools, or a break, I’m here to remind you that you’re not invisible, you’re definitely not alone, and yes, you can (and should) eat the snacks.
You don’t need to have your ducks in a row to reach out, heck – the ducks don’t even need to be in the picture.
But reaching out before you’re in dire need means avoiding extremes all together.
Here’s how we can reduce the overwhelm, together:

Hey, I’m Aislinn
(pronounced Ash-lyn, because it’s Irish and nobody ever knows how to pronounce it)
With a Bachelor of Science in Midwifery and more certifications than I have fingers, I bring a wealth of knowledge to your postpartum journey! From Hypnobirthing to lactation education to being a certified IBCLC, I’ve spent just over a decade preparing to support families like yours.
My time as a hospital-based midwife in England, gave me a wealth of clinical experience, but my move to Canada in 2018 added new layers to my work. Though my Irish midwifery degree doesn’t translate to practice here, my “midwife brain” never stops. I use that knowledge every day, whether assessing feeding challenges, offering emotional support, or troubleshooting sleep-deprived questions.
When I first moved to Toronto, I typed “newborn” into Indeed so I could stay in a similar realm to midwifery.
And I landed a job delivering breast pumps. I thought I knew how to use a breast pump - turns out, not so much! More than 200 pumps (and just as many families) later, I had a crash course in everything feeding-related. Add to that training from Medela and Ameda, and I became a bonafide pump whisperer. Now, I use that knowledge to troubleshoot all kinds of feeding challenges, from “why won’t my baby latch?” to “how does this thing even work?”
With You Every Step of the Way
I founded With You Postpartum I know because I know how overwhelming postpartum can be. My own experience as a new mom—navigating reflux, food allergies, tongue ties, and guilt—taught me that care shouldn’t end at the delivery room. While I bring years of education and training to the table, I also bring a mom’s understanding of how hard those first weeks and months can feel. You don’t have to do this alone.
With me, you’re supported by someone who truly gets it—both the science and the struggles.
Together, we’ll help you find your footing, one step at a time.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
The answer is: it depends.. I have personally called insurance companies several times over the past three years to ask for a yes or no to this answer, but almost all insurers have told me it is plan dependent. My best advice is to call your insurer (and your partners, if applicable) to ask them if IBCLC feeding support and/or a postpartum doula is covered on your specific plan.

I provide in-home support within a 40 km radius of Lorette, Manitoba. Any further distances will be considered, but for an additional travel fee. I commonly travel to Winnipeg, Ile des Chênes, Saint Adolphe, Steinbach, Niverville, Kleefeld, Ste. Anne, Richer, Oakbank, Selkirk, East St.Paul and West St.Paul for lactation consults and postpartum doula services.
If you’d prefer virtual lactation or postpartum doula support, I offer that too!

Absolutely! If the pandemic taught me anything, it’s how to work via video call. I offer a strategy session virtually for feeding support and postpartum. You can find more information on my Jane booking account! Note: This service is open to any folks, in Manitoba or worldwide.

If you’ve read through my offers and you’re still unsure about what is right for you, please email me info@withyoupostpartum.com or book a ‘Get to Know You’ call on my Jane account.

I was advised by a colleague and client once to tell folks what a postpartum doula doesn’t do rather than what they ‘do’ do, since we do so much!
Postpartum doulas exist to make the mother / parent’s life easier and the transition to life with a new baby smoother. Every shift is different, even if I’ve been working with the same family for months.
Most of my special skills are: infant feeding, helping you with bonding with your baby, postpartum recovery, mental health, whipping up some yummy snacks or food, intuitive tidying up and refreshing your home [this is light cleaning, if you’re preferring your bathrooms cleaned, etc. I have a list of cleaners that you can hire to support you with that too]
In 2022, I co-founded the Winnipeg Perinatal Professional community and I am connected to many amazing professionals in our areas. If I see or feel you would benefit from working with other allied health professionals I can provide you with personalized recommendations.
-
I have worked with babies aged 0-18 months, however for postpartum doula support I work with 0-6 month olds for that initial period of navigating newborn life.
-
While I have supported many multiple births and infant feeding dyads, multiples are not my passion projects and often do refer families of multiples to wonderful peers in the Perinatal Professional Community in Manitoba.

Yes, I love pet members of the family too! All I ask is that if your pet (typically dogs or cats) are territorial or become anxious / strange with new people OR they are having a harder time after your baby is brought home, that you put them in another room or in a kennel during our visit. Dogs in particular can become very unsure when there is a new person around or holding their new baby [I have seen and experienced this in my clinical practice many times]
